A flea can live for close to three years in its lifetime, where it spends a part of that time on your pet animal. The female flea is capable of laying a million eggs in its lifespan. These eggs can lay dormant in a carpet for almost a year, until there are adequate conditions for them to hatch.
The reason why fleas attack dogs and cats is because they happen to be close to the ground and their bodies have the ideal temperatures for them to grow. In case there are no pets around, the fleas will attack children and toddlers instead. You can see another important reason why you need to get rid of them from your house with immediate effect. Only a great flea medication can help you do this.

Their eggs cannot be harmed by temperatures. They will instead lie dormant until proper hatching conditions are met. It is at their larvae stage that they are most vulnerable to flea medicine. Whenever you detect fleas, you should apply the flea medicine immediately. You may be successful in that round.
